Tibetan Ritual Dance I

Location:  India, Ladakh

To follow the intricacy of movements in Tibetan Ritual dance takes some study.  These stags carry the Sword of Wisdom and the monks are in a meditative state while dancing.  For me, seeing the white of the monks’ eyes behind the masks showed the “real” behind the sublime.
This painting received an Honorable Mention award at the 50th Anniversary Artists' Alpine Holiday Exhibit in Ouray, Colorado in 2010.
